Hulu has been coming in with some quality content lately, and they just announced their next release. CRUSH is about Paige who is dealing with a lot as a high schooler. Her application to CalArts and a massive crush on Love, Victor’s Isabella Ferreira. When Paige is forced to join the track team she thinks it will give her the opportunity to pursue her crush, but she finds an unexpected connection with another teammate.
Who else has gone to great lengths to make their crush notice them? Usually, when you try to impress your crush, the opposite happens. In this case, Paige joined the track team while also being the least athletic human on the planet.
This sports romance stars Rowan Blanchard playing Paige. You might recognize Rowan from Girl Mets World, Snowpiercer, and A Wrinkle in Time. There are a few other familiar faces in CRUSH as well. Auli’i Cravalho who voiced Moana plays Paige’s unlikely connection, Tyler Alvares from Never Have I Ever, and Youtube star Teala Dunn play Paige’s best friends. Not to mention the icon, Megan Mullally, from Will & Grace and Why Him?
Crush is directed by Sammi Cohen and written by Kirsten King and Casey Rackham. It is produced by American High, the studio behind Hulu’s recent comedies, Plan B (2021) and Sex Appeal (2022). CRUSH will hit the streaming platform on April 29th.
