Andrew Smith’s “Grasshopper Jungle” To Get Adaptation for Sony

Grasshopper Jungle coverAndrew Smith’s book “Grasshopper Jungle” has just been optioned by Sony for an adaptation with Scott Rosenberg set to write. Rosenberg is best known for movies such as “Con Air”, “Beautiful Girls” and “High Fidelity”. According to EW, “the novel is about a 16-year-old boy who inadvertently unleashes a plague of insects that turn the populace into mindless super-soldiers looking to eat, have sex and kill things — basically a bizarre take on the Pandora’s Box myth.” It seems like a tricky one but could be cool if done right. Wishing Rosenberg luck with the adaptation, as we’d love to see this one!
