Get Pumped for the iHeartReadio Music Awards

iheartradio music awards logoThe iHeartRadio Music Awards are right around the corner and everyone’s looking forward to the excitement. Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Imagine Dragons lead the nominations for the first awards show from iHeartRadio.

With seven nods, Rihanna is leading the pack. Spanning across five categories, including artist of the year, song of the year and best collaboration —  she even competes against herself in two of the categories with her Mikky Ekko and Eminem collaborations.

JT scored five nominations, including artist of the year, and like Rihanna he is nominated twice in the collaboration category for two songs with Jay Z. Despite a breakout year that brought an abundance of Grammys, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are up for only two nominations.

Other categories include best fan army, a category that shockingly doesn’t feature Justin Bieber or One Direction’s monstrous fan bases.  In fact, neither Bieber nor One Direction is in the running at all. Surprising, huh?

Performers have yet to be announced, but there’s no doubt iHeartRadio is going to deliver big with their music connections.

Make sure to tune in on May 1st for the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards 8 p.m. Pacific time on NBC.
