ABOUT THE ALBUM: The sophomore album from the group filled with obvious love for each other (not a pun, no joke) has a lot of rabid fans counting down the days. Never Trust a Happy Song took over the charts in 2011 and subsequently songs were featured in movies, TV shows, and commercials too numerous to name here. While not a ton is known about the album currently, the group wrote most of it in Los Angeles in drummer Ryan Rabin’s studio. We can also expect a more synthy sound than their acoustic-heavy first album. Look out for Spreading Rumours on 9/17/13.
SINGLE SPOTLIGHT: “Ways to Go” is kind of the perfect growing pains song. The video showcases an archly comic tone, employing a mini Kim Jong Un busting out some serious dance moves. The Whoa-oh-oh refrain is an earworm sure to get stuck in your head upon first listen.
