Ya Casting Roundup

It would seem that casting news for Young Adult Hollywood revolves around just a few hot and very in-demand names, and what a busy bunch they are! But because things change in showbiz faster than you can say ‘         !‘ the names on that list are changing all the time. So to that end, we here at YA Mag will undertake the hefty task of keeping you up to date each month on who’s playing what, who’s not, and who should. The roles and stars everyone can’t stop talking about are all here…

Let’s begin with some news on our favorite bad boy Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf, Arrow): he has joined the cast of San Andreas, the incredible sounding earthquake disaster flick with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Alexandra Daddario already attached.

COLTON HAYNES JOINS DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON AND ALEXANDRA DADDARIO IN “SAN ANDREAS”Channing Tatum wants to be Gamit. This is a terrible idea. And then, a pretty brilliant rumor has been making the rounds: Channing Tatum wants to be an X-Man! And his taste in mutants is impeccable, since he has expressed interest in one of the coolest of the bunch, Gambit. Although Gambit was already featured (all too briefly!) in the (very) lackluster X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Taylor Kitsch, producers have already met with Tatum and are open to the idea of a future collaboration—potentially in X-Men: Apocalypse (the sequel to next month’s Days of Future Past). Totally cool!

Mrs. Doubtfire posterIn silly sequel news, they seem to be planning a continuation of the Mrs. Doubtfire story, a full 22 years later. Robin Williams is said to be attached, but what about the kids from the first film, Mara Wilson and Matthew Lawrence?

Keegan AllenAs for TV news, Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars) will be part of the TV movie Final Exam, about a girl tormented by dreams of a terrifying sorority hazing ritual. Allen will play her doctor and friend.

Ben SavageLastly, another fun tidbit for those eagerly awaiting Girl Meets World: Cory himself, aka Ben Savage, will not only star in the show but will also step behind the camera to direct an episode!
