A New Addition To Diary of a Wimpy Kid Is Coming Our Way

It has been quite some time since the Diary of A Wimpy Kid fans have seen anything new. However, that’s all about to change soon!

Disney+ recently released a teaser poster for the all-new animated adventure appropriately titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This addition to the franchise will adopt one of the world’s bestselling authors, screenwriter, and producer Jeff Kinney’s (author and creator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid) first book of the series.

Newcomers to the franchise, don’t go researching about the franchise. Oh no, Young Entertainment has got the backstory right here. The story revolves around Greg. A creative kid with a wild imagination. He has got plans to make it big out here in the real world. That’s right, money and fame. One thing though. He has got to survive middle school first.

Greg’s adventures are always hilarious and CHAOTIC. Or atleast, in the eyes of a sixth grader writing in his diary (was supposed to be a journal) they are. In this adaptation, he has to deal with feelings of jealousy when his best friend Rowley seems to be succeeding at everything with no effort at all! Greg learns how to value friendship and satisfaction for standing up for what’s right.

The animation is directed by Swinton Scott (director of Futurama), and written and produced by Jeff Kinney himself. Actors casted to voice the characters are, Brady Noon (“The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”), Ethan William Childress (“mixed-ish”) and Chris Diamantopoulos (“Mickey Mouse”).

Kinney, who serves as both screenwriter and producer, says, “This film feels like the book comes to life, and it’s exciting to see Greg Heffley and his family and friends in their fully-animated glory. It is the Wimpy World in a way no one has seen before. Working on this movie, I feel like we have been sitting on a wonderful secret. I can’t wait to finally share it with the world!”

This animation has got a great crew to back it up. This is just a recipe for success! The best part is the original creator is here to produce and write the script himself. You know it is going to be good when the OG wants to back it up.

It looks like Greg is going to have a very EVENTFUL year! The fans wish him the best of luck even though they know that Greg is always on the short end of the stick. Prepare to stream the animation on December 3!
