These actors are stealing the screen in the Fantastic Beasts sequel

Harry Potter fans rejoice! The newest Fantastic Beasts movie is here. “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is the second movie in the Fantastic Beast franchise, and is based off of the book series of the same name, by J.K. Rowling. The movie is currently playing in theaters now.

In the sequel, Eddie Redmayne returns as Newt Scamander, a wizard and magizoologist. Newt is expelled from Hogwarts, Scamander joined the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

And while fans are loving Newt and his adventures, its the younger version of Newt that is really getting audience’s attention. In “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”, fans get a glimpse of Newt during his time at Hogwarts.

Young Newt is played by up and coming British actor Joshua Shea. This is Joshua’s first movie role, and quite an impressive one! Joshua holds his own when sharing the screen with award winning actor Jude Law, who plays young Dumbledore. And the young actor is quite impressive during his scenes of Hogwarts, which eventually lead to Newt being expelled from the wizarding school.

Another young actor worth taking note of is Thea Lamb, who plays young Lena Lestrange. Like Newt, Lena is a student at Hogwarts. And like Joshua Shea, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is Thea’s first feature film role. She plays the younger version of Zoe Kravitz (who plays Lena is both Fantastic Beasts movies).

The two characters form a deep friendship together, while each individually have a deep understanding of the wizarding world. And while on screen, these two young actors are captivating and fit right in with the well established characters. This sequel delves deeper into the lives of Newt and Lena, and Joshua Shea and Thea Lamb play their parts perfectly. Not only do they hold their own with a well renowned cast, but they fit in perfectly with the wizarding world of the Harry Potter universe. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for these two wonderful young actors!
