This month we got a special visit from Helena Bertinelli, Oliver’s past lover and former rival the huntress. She has come to finally finish what she started a few episodes back, to kill her father Frank Bertinelli on the opening night of Oliver’s Club, Verdant. Helena steals Tommy and threatens to break his arm if Oliver doesn’t help her tack and kill her father. Oliver agrees to help Helena to spare his best friend some serious pain. They go to take on two vans, Oliver’s target van was empty, and the one that was supposed to have Helena’s father in it had Det. Lance and Oliver’s girlfriend, McKenna Hall in it. Helena is arrested on the spot. Fearing Helena will expose him; the hood knocks out the lights and sets her free. Once in a safe place, Oliver hands Helena a passport with a ticket to Rome, telling her to start a new life. She refuses. While Oliver and McKenna are sleeping together, Helena forces Felicity to hack into the FBI database to locate her father. Felicity calls Oliver to warn him and he soon finds himself face to face with the Huntress in a stand-off, a ready arrow in his hands and a gun in hers. Out of nowhere, McKenna shows up and orders them to lower their weapons. The hood does as asked, but Helena shoots McKenna, shattering her Femur and getting away.

While visiting McKenna in the hospital Oliver finds out that she is moving away to go live with her family while she does rehab, ending their relationship. Somebody else is just starting a relationship though! Thea goes to the glades to confront Roy Harper about not showing up for the job she had got him at Verdant. They end up fighting and she leaves. As she’s walking down

the street two guys jump her, but Roy is quick to save her and gets cut in the process. Thea takes him to the hospital and distracts him with a kiss during a dreaded needle. In episode 18, Roy gets taken by a serial killer and is put on a live feed to be executed in front of millions. It’s up to Oliver to rescue him, but in the process might have blown his cover…Roy managed to keep one of Oliver’s broken arrows. I wonder what Roy is going to do with it? (Hint: Roy Harper is the Red Arrow in the comic books) so we know his character won’t be going away for a while.

Tommy learns how to cope with Oliver being the Hood and they continue on with their friendship. Laurel sets up a breakfast with her parents to discuss the situation with her sister Sara. Laurel tells her father that it wouldn’t hurt to look at the evidence, so he does. He soon finds himself searching for Sara with his ex-wife. Laurel makes a sad discovery though; the woman in the picture was not Sara. It was another American woman who was touring the coast of China. So they’re search ends there.

Moira meets with Frank (not Bertinelli) to discuss their failed attempt on the murder of Malcolm. Malcolm has asked her to find out who put the hit on him, which means he doesn’t suspect her. Frank however, decided to get out of town. She gets a call from Malcolm and he tells her that a high ranking member of the Chinese triad is going to find out who put the hit on him, and this worries Moira. She sets up a meeting with Frank and tells him that Malcolm knows it was him, and as she continued to speak with him he was shot with two arrows. The dark archer (Malcolm) walks up to Moira and thanks her for her loyalty. Well, it seems like Oliver’s mom is getting sucked deeper into the whole, and all she wanted was to get out.

Not a lot has happened In Oliver’s flashbacks this month. We see Oliver and Slade plotting a way to get close enough to the missiles to destroy them. Oliver disguises himself as a guard and brings Slade over, when the guards got close enough, Slade killed them. Oliver then steals the missile circuit board and the two try to use it as leverage. Trade the circuit board, for a safe way off the island. But that plan was an epic failure when Edward Fryers turns it around and demands the circuit board, for Yao Fae’s daughter’s life. A fight breaks out and Fryer’s team gets their butt whopped (by Slade and Yao Fae’s daughter). Oliver, Slade, Yao Fae and his daughter make a run for it; but Yao gets shot in the leg and send his daughter away with Oliver and Slade.

And now we conclude this recap with something to think about…I’m so excited to find out what Roy Harper is going to do with that broken arrow he found. And if he and Thea will fall further in love, they make such a cute couple. Now that the Dark Arrow is back in the picture we can expect a lot of action next month. What’s Moira going to do now that she’s involved with the Dark Arrow? All these questions can be answered next month, don’t forget to watch!
