Cassie Bradley Facetimes Us To Share Experience of Working with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock in Practical Magic

The long-awaited Practical Magic sequel is finally here! Practical Magic 2 is in theaters now and to celebrate,  we Facetimed with Cassie Bradley, who stars as Hannah Owens in the film to chat about her audition process, how she prepped to play a character from the 1600s, and her experience working with the star studded cast including Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.

“Let’s use this as rocket fuel and absolutely put everything I have into it to honor the incredible legacy and tradition of Practical Magic.”

Practical Magic 2 follows the Owens family 25 years later as they try to break their centuries-old family curse once and for all. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprise their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens and Maisie Williams, Joey King, Xolo Maridueña, and more join the star studded cast. Cassie’s character Hannah is a younger witch of the magical Owens family, whose emerging magical powers Sally and Gillian must try and keep hidden from the public.

“Hannah is where the magical elements of the Owens family begins.”

Cassie revealed that she grew up with the first Practical Magic movie so it was surreal to be a part of this sequel. She submitted a self tape for the film and said her biggest advice for submitting these audition tapes is to put your heart and soul into it. It can be nerve wracking sometimes putting yourself out there, but try and turn those nerves into excitement!

“I thought the best way to equip myself was to rewatch the original Practical Magic.”

Like many of the actors we talk to, Cassie revealed she made a playlist to play Hannah, as it helped her to get into Hannah’s headspace.

“It was such an inclusive project and inclusive set.”

Not many people can say they’ve worked with the legendary Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman and Cassie said it was so cool to be on a set with a primarily female cast, alongside the author of the 2021 book The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman. She had many ‘wow’ moments where she would just look around the set and be in awe of the people she was getting to work with. Talk about a moment!

“I hope audiences are going to love the movie just as much as I loved working on it.”

Cassie gave us such great tidbits on finding an agent and learning to give yourself grace in a competitive industry, and so it’s just another reason to listen to the whole episode.
