Cast of Sterling Point talk Love Triangles, Intense Scenes, and Working with Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Amazon Prime’s latest anticipated coming-of-age drama Sterling Point is almost here! The show, full of new friends, untold family secrets, and budding love triangles, hits the streaming platform on August 5th. We exclusively chatted with cast members Bo Bragason (Oona), Nikko Angelo Hinayo (Sully), Mabel Strachan (Maple), Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie (Ellis), and Daniel Quinn-Toye (Rory) to learn more.

The series, created by actress and director Megan Park, follows Annie Jacobson, played by Ella Rubin, as her life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada.

Many of the cast members filmed a lot of intense and emotional scenes throughout season 1. For Bo, especially, she said it was so important to have solid relationships with her scene partners and directly communicate so they were both comfortable.

Bo: “Communication is the most important thing in more intimate scenes.”

For Daniel, he said it was all about tapping into his character Rory’s emotions, finding ways to relate to the longing and need for understanding.

Daniel: “Naturally I resonate with that sensitivity and delicateness.”

Aside from the intense scenes, there were also a lot of funny scenes that are even more fun to watch. Mabel said she learned a lot about not being afraid to ask for another take on set to make sure you are as confident in your performance as can be.

Mabel: “It’s okay to ask for another take.”

Jacob had an incredible experience playing Ellis as his on-screen dad was none other than Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Jacob said it was surreal working with him after being such a fan of The Walking Dead and said he helped him a lot to stay grounded throughout the process.

Jacob: “It was such an enriching experience to work with Jeffrey.”

We also get the cast’s answer to whether they are Team Ellis or Team Rory. Make sure to stream Sterling Point to decide for yourself.

Nico: “I love an opposites attract moment.”
