About the Album: It’s not every day that Eminem announces he has a protégé. Don’t Look Down is the debut album of his hotter-than-the-sun mentee, Skylar Grey. In the months leading up to its release, the Grey has been busy releasing several singles to show how she’s experimented with genres. “I believe in hearing more than one song, because there are so many different sides to the album,” Grey said to Rolling Stone.

Don’t Look Down is Grey’s real push into the spotlight – until now she is far better known for songs she’s written and produced for other artists. These include Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Dr. Dre‘s “I Need a Doctor” and Cee-Lo‘s “Only You.” While she may be raps newest darling, songs like “White Suburban” also show her pulling influence from unexpected touchstones like singer-songwriter Allison Krause.
