Emilia Faucher reveals what she learned from Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot while playing young Snow White in Disney’s live-action Snow White

One of the most iconic Disney princesses is being brought back to life in the live-action musical fantasy film, Snow White, out in theaters now! Before the film’s release, we chatted with actress Emilia Faucher, who stars as a young Snow White to learn more about her journey to booking the role and working alongside a star-studded cast.

Snow White reimagines the 1937 Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in a live-action format. In the film, a princess joins forces with seven dwarfs to liberate her kingdom from her cruel stepmother, the Evil Queen. Joining Emilia is a star-studded cast that features Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Snow White’s love interest, Andrew Barth Feldman as the voice of Dopey, Tituss Burgess as Bashful, and many more.

Emilia has been acting and modeling since she was just three years old. She made her film debut in A Ring for Christmas and as Misha in the Oscar-winning feature film CODA. She also has upcoming roles in the horror film Rosario and the Netflix series The Boroughs

For the audition, Emilia said she had to send in both acting and singing tapes for the first round, and she sang “Square Root of Possible” from the Netflix original film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. For round two, she had to learn a choreographed dance, showcasing herself as a triple threat!

“They sent me a choreography video and I remember propping up my laptop on the dining table so I could watch it and I practiced in the kitchen.”

When she got the call that she booked the role, Emilia revealed she was literally left speechless, and actually had to keep the secret from multiple family members and friends for almost two years!

“I was so stunned on the call that I got the role that I couldn’t speak.”

While Emilia didn’t get to work closely alongside Rachel Zegler because of their different schedules, it turned out to be a perfect casting, as Emilia said they both have very similar mannerisms in real life in the way they smile.

“But it is funny because we [Rachel Zegler and I] do have the same mannerisms in the way in real life.”

Emilia filmed a few scenes with Gal Gadot, and said while she was initially very nervous filming with such an iconic star, she said Gal was super sweet and reassuring.

“Gal Gadot is super sweet, unlike her character the Evil Queen of course. The way she gets immersed into her character is absolutely fascinating.”

Snow White is a generational character for Disney fans old and new, and Emilia said she can’t wait for audiences to see the hard work that was put in by the entire cast and crew into this live action reimagination with its own twists and surprises.

“Our Snow White is the same Snow White we’ve known and loved for generations.”
