In episode 21 of The Young Entertainment Podcast, Mordechai and Daniella are joined by Berkan Dincer and Michael Lee, content creators and hosts of The Drive-In Movie Podcast. We chat all about getting started in the content creation space, Berkan and Michael’s inspiration behind their podcast, and their favorite films to review. If you’ve ever wanted a podcast to learn from the stars and get the best masterclass tips and tricks for launching your own career, you’ve come to the right place!
Berkan is an actor, writer and content creator who has blown up on TikTok (353.4K), Instagram (199K) and YouTube (29.2K) as he creates content talking about his favorite movies and tv shows in a creative way, bringing the big screen to your screen! Berkan has also starred in the films Falling Asleep and Letters of Love. Berkan is also the host of Sincerely, Your Movie Friend, which you can find on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts.
Berkan and Michael, who more recently got started in the content space, have been best friends since college, bonding over their love of film.
Berkan: “[Talking about film] was one thing I was really passionate about, I could truly see myself talking about it everyday.”
The duo started The Drive-In Movie Podcast, where they take a drive after seeing a new movie and share their thoughts about what is playing in theaters. They got the idea to start the podcast after seeing Death of a Unicorn!
Michael: “We are always trying to get each other to watch things.”
Berkan said he originally had dreams of becoming an actor, but that journey is different for everyone. He even revealed he had started three separate TikTok accounts before his @bigscreenberkan account went viral, which shows that it sometimes takes time to find a passion and an audience, but it is all worth it when you do!
It is clear that Michael and Berkan love making content together, and while Michael is a bit newer to the space, he has proven himself to be a pro, first going viral for his hilarious reaction to watching Madame Web in theaters.
And even though Michael and Berkan have set themselves apart in the content making space, they still face challenges! Michael revealed they do not have a producer so often have to work out any recording kinks by themselves. When they filmed an episode of their podcast reviewing Sinners, the microphones didn’t work so they had to fix the audio themselves.
Michael: “We don’t have a producer. We learned to do this ourselves.”
Since figuring out the content that works for them, Michael and Berkan enjoy instilling their knowledge onto aspiring content creators. Berkan’s best advice is consistency, and advocates that young creators make 100 posts in 100 days to find a routine and what they are passionate about. You also never know what audiences will respond to. Berkan said he was in a rut before making a Pixar Timeline video, which went viral!
Berkan: “Find something that you are passionate about and can talk about every single day, then prove it.”
There are so many incredible movies coming out, but check out Michael and Berkan’s most recent reviews of Fantastic Four: First Steps, Elio, and How To Train Your Dragon.

Consider this:
- The best way to become a content creator is just to start creating. It might take some time to figure out what audiences like and what your passion is but keep doing it!
- Consistency is key: post as often as you can. You’ll learn the most from doing.
