In episode three of the Young Entertainment Podcast, Daniella and Mordechai are joined by Eli Tokash, who interviews some of the biggest stars for Young Entertainment and who has a pretty impressive entertainment resume of his own. Get to know Eli Tokash, one of our star interviewers who shares some of his favorite interviews he’s done with Young Entertainment and learn about his own Take a Bow podcast, where he interviews some of Broadway’s biggest names. Eli has a long and impressive resume of his own. He started performing at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera in “A Christmas Carol” and “Oliver” and then traveled from West Virginia to New York for even more auditions. He’s appeared in five Broadway and touring productions, including as Michael Banks in the National Tour of Mary Poppns, and has had several cameos in movies and tv shows including young Abe in ABC’s “Forever” and as Zach DeLorean in “Framing John DeLorean.”
Eli also shared his experiences of performing at Metlife Stadium, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, and even at the White House for the Obamas!
Eli: “Being in ‘MSG’ was a dream come true.”
In addition to Eli’s Broadway experience, he loves to get to know Broadway actors behind the scenes, and founded the Take A Bow podcast, available on all streaming platforms. Eli has interviewed some of the biggest names, from Bowen Yang to Ben Platt and Kelli O’Hara.
Eli: “[Take a Bow] is just me chatting with friends and former castmates. I’ve been fortunate enough to have Bowen Yang on and Ben Platt.”
As one of Young Entertainment’s interviewers, Eli has gotten to be a part of some of the biggest moments with the brightest young stars. He said one of his favorite interviews he did was with actor Jordan Doww, who plays teenage Colton in the Hallmark series “The Way Home.” Eli said Jordan was so easy to talk to and they dove deep into acting processes and that iconic pond scene.
Daniella: “Everytime I interview one of these stars, I learn something new and it is just so fascinating.”
To end episode three, Mordechai and Daniella asked Eli what his biggest advice is for anyone starting out in the entertainment world, and his favorite phrase is “yes, and…” Keep exercising those creative muscles and always keep an open mind!
Eli: “My favorite things from doing [interviews] is talking to creatives and learning everyone’s different process and how there is no secret formula.”
