Halloween on the big screen is so much fun, and we dive into our favorite Halloween-themed moments on TV. If you know by now, we are massive fans of A Cinderella Story and the iconic Fall Ball moment, with Sam turning heads in that white dress and locking eyes with her prince charming Austin.
Daniella: “[One of my favorite Halloween moments was] The Cinderella Story and the Fall Ball where they all got to dress up in different costumes.”
You can’t have Halloween without costumes and we also break down our favorite costumes on screen. From that dress in A Cinderella Story to all the costumes in Wicked and the Lizzie McGuire Halloween episode where Lizzie turns into a zombie, we are so nostalgic for all things spooky.
Speaking of Halloween, Young Entertainment’s own reporter, Lauren Smolka, interviewed both Kenzi Richardson and Janice LeAnn Brown, who star together in a crossover episode of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place and Vampirina: Teenage Vampire. It was obvious how close the two are off screen and how grateful they are to be on Disney at the same time, sharing a heartfelt moment where they chat about their favorite moments of working together.
Mordechai: “I love when Kenzi and Janice compliment each other and give them their flowers.”
Kenzi and Janice revealed what they both learned from their Disney casting processes and their best advice for aspiring actors, their experience recording their iconic wand ID on Disney for the first time, and what characters they’d love to play in a Zombies 5!
Daniella: “I love how wise [Kenzi and Janice] are and that they are able to think so logically in an industry that is so chaotic.”
We also dive into a masterclass moment of how to play a scream queen. Daniella shares that the trick is to not play scared, but instead try not to be scared. Envision a scary moment and build that tension inside you and then release. Anne Hathaway did a great job of doing this all with her eyes, so check out episode 26 of The Young Entertainment Podcast to see a pro in action!
Mordechai: “If you want to check out the episode of Anne Hathaway and the Princess Diaries director, check out episode 26 of The Young Entertainment Podcast.”

Consider this:
- Don’t worry if a casting process takes longer, some do and there are so many reasons for it! And if you don’t get one role, it means something bigger and better is coming your way.
- Whenever there is a scene where you need to be scared, don’t play scared and instead playing trying not to be scared. Here’s how to do it:
- Start calm- envision the danger. Let your breath shorten slightly
- Lock your focus on one place.
- Let a micro tremor begin, such as shaking hands or breath. Hold that tension till the last possible second then release.
