It’s one of those stories that’s so crazy, it has to be true. Or at least in some part based in reality. MTV’s Finding Carter chronicles the story of a relatively happy and well-adjusted teen who discovers—in the space of one day—that her mother is not her mother, but her abductor, and that she has a whole other family nearby who haven’t seen her since she was a toddler. And insanely enough, stories like this have in fact happened. A breakdown of the characters follows:
Carter Stevens Kathryn Prescott has the immense task of playing a girl who has to relearn her life and reclaim her identity. Carter is suddenly confronted with an entire family of strangers who know her as Lyndon, her birth name, and the series follows her evolution with this new knowledge.
Taylor Wilson Anna Jacoby-Heron plays Carter’s true twin sister, and the scene where the two see each other for the first time is memorable to say the least. The sisters’ relationship is tempered, but grows into something more significant.
Ofe This curiously named character is played by Jesse Carere. Ofe is one of Carter’s new friends from her ‘new’ life, part of the crew that is made up of Gabe, Bird and Crash.
Gabe Gabe is Carter’s new love interest, as played by Jesse Henderson on the show. Gabe is a slightly conflicted character, as he showed interest in Taylor before Carter showed up…
Bird The wealthy, neglected Bird is played by Vanessa Morgan. She may (or may not) be involved with Ofe or Crash. |
|
Crash The resident bad boy of the show, Crash is brought to life by Caleb Ruminer. He not only deals drugs, but also is a bad influence on Carter’s younger birth brother Grant. Carter seems to have a predilection for these types, as she also likes Max.
Max Our interview subject Alex Saxon plays Max, also a little bit of a druggie. Max and Carter used to date, and for the time being have decided to stay just friends. But only time will tell… |
