About the Album: Julie Roberts isn’t a newbie, but she’s having a breakout moment. In the years since her 2004 Top 20 success with “Break Down Here” and departing her record label in 2006, she has released an independent project in 2011, but sadly, she was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and lost her home in the 2010 flood that devastated Nashville. This past season, The Voice producers approached her. She decided to audition and made it through to the live auditions, however none of the judges chose to turn around. When Blake Shelton finally saw who it was, he was visibly upset that he didn’t pick her. She sang one of his songs, which may have been a deciding factor, but again, he was very regretful. Julie herself, however, doesn’t have regrets since she was able to sign with Sun Records afterward and now her new album “Good Wine and Bad Decisions” is set to drop 10/29. On the titular track Julie says: “It’s a song that I wrote for the record. I just liked the title. I’ve got enough songs probably for two or three albums, honestly. That’s a song that I held onto for a little bit because I loved it. I knew I wanted it to be on this project. I sort of always knew because I liked the title that I wanted it to be the title of the record. We’re gonna have some guest musicians and guest artists on this record. So, we may add one or two people to that song. I just felt it would be a great title for this record.” Here’s to sunny skies ahead for Julie.
