the-infinite-sea-rick-yanceySYNOPSIS:
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

WHY SHOULD YOU CHECK IT OUT?

If you haven’t read THE 5TH WAVE, what are you waiting for?  This sci-fi epic of teenage survivors was all the rage last year.  The sequel is set to thrill and chill as well, as we learn how Cassie and the gang are holding up against the Others’ machinations–this time, using children as their pawns.

Where the cover for the first in the series was of golden sunlit hues, here we’re turned to icy blues.  The lone figure sweeps a flashlight across the water-logged tile floor in what appears to be an abandoned corporate building.  It is intriguing and mysterious, with just a hint of dystopia.

Young adult author Rick Yancey, a native Floridian, was Inspired and encouraged by his wife to use his English degree to write books.  Since 2005, he’s been writing full-time, bringing us such series as ALFRED KROPP, THE MONSTRUMOLOGIST, and THE 5TH WAVE.  Find Rick online at www.RickYancey.com!

EARLY REVIEWS SAY…

[T]his gut-wrenching sequel to The 5th Wave careens on a violent course of nonstop action. … Despite the gore, inhumanity, and senseless losses, Yancey manages an ending that both shatters and uplifts. (Publishers Weekly)

Everything culminates in a 180-degree reversal that turns the series’ cosmos on its end and will no doubt have readers impatiently screaming for the third. A roller-coaster ride of a sequel. (Kirkus Reviews)
