Joshua Bassett just released three new singles and three new music videos! The songs which he released are titled “Crisis,” “Secret,” and “Set Me Free,” as part of his new EP. 100% of the earnings from the song “crisis” will go to mental health organizations. Joshua decided to film each video in a single shot, and all three of them turned out amazing!
The series starts with “Crisis” which speaks about being hurt in a prior relationship that he had been in. This shows in his lyrics. The lyrics “But don’t you dare act like I didn’t love you/ Don’t go thinkin’ that I didn’t hurt, too/ Don’t you ever wonder if I’m okay after all you put me through?/ Half the shit you’re saying’s only half-true/ Messin’ with my life as a career move,” really show how hurt he is.
“Secret” comes next, and this continues to speak to a previous relationship and how he was hurt. He sings “Swore that you only had a crush/ You told me that you would cut him off,” he sings. “I should’ve seen it coming then/ My friends all warned me I should run for the hills/ But I defended you still/ ‘Cause I know rumors could kill.”
“Set Me Free” ends the series. The song starts off “I don’t wanna be rude or on the defensive/ But I’ve been goin’ through it too/ And I know you feel used, I know you’ve been hurt/ Anything I did to make you feel worse/ I’d take it all back if I could,”. It seems as though Joshua is ending the trilogy wanting to put all the drama aside and to move on.
Joshua is an extremely talented singer and songwriter and all three songs in his trilogy were beautiful. Watch all three of Joshua’s new music videos here!
