On February 8, the official Love, Victor twitter account announced that the much-beloved show is returning for a third and final season. The post included the cast members sharing little videos of themselves playing a game called pass the phone, in which they record themselves saying something nice about one specific person. Statements included being the best kisser, drinking the most vanilla coffee, and being on-screen and off-screen besties. This is all leading up to the season three announcement.
Love, Victor is a follow-up to the hit movie Love, Simon, which was based on the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, written by Becky Albertalli. As both medias take place in the same universe, Simon actually makes an appearance in the season one episode “Boy’s Trip” when Victor goes to New York. Both boys had been communicating long before they actually met. Simon was someone Victor could talk to when he wasn’t out to his family and friends yet. During the season two finale, they had a phone conversation that ended with Victor saying he wouldn’t need Simon anymore. While not entirely ruling out further appearances, it seems like the show won’t have any more of Simon’s narration.
Questions have been circulating in fan’s minds ever since the season two finale, mainly revolving around Victor. Who will he choose, Benji or Rahim? The first boyfriend or the new fling? Whoever he chooses, the fandom is sure to be divided. Other questions involve the rest of the cast, like will Isabel become more accepting of her son? Will she and her husband get back together? And who will Felix pick as his partner, Lake or Pilar? All of this and more might be answered come the new season.
Tune in to season three only on Hulu on June 15 this year.
