Claire and Cam are at odds with the renovation process on the house they are trying to flip. Cam tries to bring in a ringer (lesbian mom/contractor) to settle the dispute, but she sides with Claire. Cam goes rouge. Claire is impressed until gold fish start dying.
Phil decides to teach his daughters about maintaining a home. His attempt backfires, and he sends the girls on a fool’s errand, so he can call his dad. Through some witty, wisecracks, Phil realizes that he wants to help his daughters when they’re finally on their own.
Mitchell plays handball with the school bully, and looses. With Lily embarrassed, he calls in Luke for some Rocky-style training before returning to the school for a rematch. This time Mitchell wins, but with poor sportsmanship.
Gloria plans to spend time with Manny, only to get roped into a four-hour Moby Dick show. Jay is left with
a wailing Joe, and resorts to the car. With Joe asleep, Jay skips baby class. When Joe starts crying in the movie theatre Jay hands him off to a woman he barely knows. Gloria and Manny see Joe, and Gloria hits the ceiling. Manny tries to manipulate Jay into taking him to the second Moby Dick showing since the earlier one was full. But when Manny makes the call, everyone learns that the show was not full, and Gloria lied. Gloria walks out in a huff, but returns to Jay reading her boys Moby Dick.
April’s Scoop: Phil and Claire see their future. Lily starts to starts to identify with her gay dads. Jay and Manny tour a new school. Cam puts on a school production and Luke and Manny must face off for the lead. Jay teaches Phil to golf. Gloria and Alex see a psychic.
