About the Album: Third time’s a charm? This is the follow up to the group’s successful album, Contra, released in2010. The group retains their indie-pop-rock sound resplendent with synthpop, baroque and surf sounds. Straight from the horses’ mouth: “On this album, there’s a lot of organic sounds and a lot of performance,” said Rostam Batmanglij. “You want the personality of each performer — whether it’s singing or bass or drums or piano — to be intact.”

Track Spotlight: “Diane Young” and “Step” were released as a single – however, “Diane Young” shows the most marked growth for the group. The name, a pun on Dying Young, shows the tongue in cheek tone of the song – reflected in the worked over electronic trills.
