The top ten things we’re excited for the week of September 15.
1. I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
After an unknown event sets them drifting apart, brother and sister twins Jude and Noah struggle to put their lives back together and repair their damaged relationship.
2. The Maze Runner
It seems like we’ve been waiting for an eternity for this book-to-screen movie to come out, and it’s finally here! Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien stars. Opens Friday, September 18.
3. Finding Carter (Season Finale)
After a summer full of intense drama, Finding Carter wraps up its first season. Finding Carter will be back for season two in 2015. Season finale airs Tuesday, September 16 on MTV.
4. Generationals – Alix
The New Orleans duo are back with a fresh sound on Alix, mixing more contemporary pop and hip-hop sounds with their classic brand of indie-rock. Released Tuesday, September 16.
5. Jackaby by William Ritter
Set in 1890s New England, young Abigail rock comes under the employ of R.F. Jackaby, a detective who can sense supernatural beings. The two find themselves on the trail of a serial killer, although it is unknown whether the killer is mortal or supernatural.
6. The 100: Day 21 by Kass Morgan
Following the events of The 100, where a group of 100 young people have been sent down to a supposedly empty planet Earth after years of living on space stations, the saga continues in Day 21.
7. Red Band Society
This comedy-drama focuses on a group of teens that meet while residing at a Los Angeles pediatric hospital. Despite their differences, the young patients grow and learn from each other during their darkest hours. Starring Astro (Earth to Echo), Ciaro Bravo (Big Time Rush), and Charlie Rowe (Neverland). Premieres Wednesday, September 17 at 9:00 pm on ABC.
8. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey
The Infinite Sea is the sequel to the wildly popular (and soon to be major motion picture) The 5th Wave. Humanity and society as we know it has been systematically wiped out and destroyed by a race of aliens known as The Others. The Infinite Sea picks up where The 5th Wave left off, with Cassie still searching for her brother, Ben, and the whereabouts of Evan, the seemingly sympathetic humanoid alien, still unknown.
9. Lowell – We Loved Her Dearly
Canadian indie-pop singer Lowell releases her debut record We Loved Her Dearly. Fans of fun, quirky pop-electronic music will love Lowell’s skewed outlook on life, who claims she takes influence from Kanye West, LCD Soundsystem, and even The Spice Girls. We Loved her Dearly is out on Tuesday, September 16.
10. Dancing With The Stars (Season Premiere)
TV’s favorite dance competition is back for another hot season of booty shaking! This year’s stars include Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars), Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls), and celebrity blogger Bethany Mota. Dancing With The Stars returns Monday, September 15 at 8:00 pm on ABC.
