Netflix is setting its sights on a much lighter teen series, following the release of the high school drama 13 Reasons Why.

The streaming service has given a 13-episode order to Alexa & Katie, a multi-camera sitcom starring Paris Berelc (Disney XD’s Lab Rats: Elite Force, Mighty Med) and newcomer Isabel May.
The series centers around lifelong best friends Alexa (Berelc) and Katie (May), who are eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. The pals confront a crisis that leaves them feeling like outsiders at a time when what seems to matter most is fitting in.

Alexa & Katie was created by Hannah Montana writer Heather Wordham, who will serve as an executive producer.
