New Johnny Orlando single “It’s Alright” from the “My Little Pony: A New Generation” Soundtrack Officially Released Worldwide

The full soundtrack for My Little Pony: A New Generation will be released on September 24th when the film debuts globally on Netflix. Johnny Orlando’s “It’s Alright” was officially released online on September 17th.

Toronto-born singer, songwriter and actor Johnny Orlando is an up-and-coming global pop superstar. Orlando already has a social media following of over 25 million+ engaged fans worldwide, ranking among some of the Internet’s biggest influencers. At only 18 years old, Orlando’s music has already generated over 1 billion global streams and acclaim from the likes of Billboard, Variety, Paper, Teen Vogue, and more.

Orlando’s new song, “It’s Alright” is about having fun with your friends on the dance floor. The song is reminiscent of songs like Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” and Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop til’ You Get Enough.”

Why you should care: This year alone, Johnny has been nominated for “Pop Album of the Year” at the 2021 JUNO Awards for his 2020 EP It’s Never Really Over. In 2020, Orlando took home an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Canadian Act, marking the second year in a row that he has earned that title. Orlando previously garnered a nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2019 JUNO Awards and at the Kids’ Choice Awards, iHeart Much Music Video Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. He is currently in the middle of a global talent deal and consumer products partnership with MTV/ViacomCBS, and in August 2020, Johnny Orlando was the #1 UMG artist on TikTok with over 8.5 billion views.

So what’s the film about? From the press release:

The unimaginable has happened…Equestria has lost its magic! Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi are no longer friends and now live separated by species. But idealistic Earth Pony Sunny (Vanessa Hudgens) is determined to find a way to bring enchantment and unity back to their world. Teaming up with open-hearted Unicorn Izzy (Kimiko Glenn), the pair travel to faraway lands where they encounter the likes of charismatic and brave Pegasi Pipp (Sofia Carson) and Zipp (Liza Koshy) and the ever-responsible fellow Earth Pony Hitch (James Marsden). Their mission is full of misadventures, but these new best friends each possess their own unique and special gifts that may be just what this pony-verse needs to restore magic and prove that even little ponies can make a big difference.

Watch the new film on Netflix and stream the new album from your favorite streaming service on September 24th.
