New York Comic Con brought some major news and previews for Marvel’s upcoming television lineup. The Gifted surprised fans with a poster autographing session and a panel discussion. YEM was lucky enough to attend both events. First, fans welcomed the cast with a thunderous applause as they entered the stage at the Marvel Booth. They signed posters and talked face to face about Fox’s hot new series.
After that, the cast and producers took to the main stage for a sneak peak at the first 15 minutes of Monday’s upcoming episode. It picked up right after last week’s cliffhanger, setting up some serious tension for the new events that have been set in motion. Blink is wounded and John is in custody with the Sentinel Services. We were left on a bit of a different cliffhanger as Blink started losing control of her powers. Then the lights came back on and the cast started their conversation. Topics included Andy’s developing sense of identity as he discovers his new path as a mutant, Lauren’s inner conflict, and the family dynamic that lies at the core of the show. Emma Dumont also spoke about Lorna’s character, saying “She struggles with Schizophrenia and we will see that struggle throughout the season.” To finish out the panel Natalie Lind asked the entire room to wish a Happy Birthday to Percy White as a cake was wheeled out onto the stage.
There is a lot to come for The Gifted, and YEM will continue to cover the series as the season continues. The Gifted airs Monday at 9pm on Fox.
