One Tree Hill had so many great moments and amazing music throughout the course of the entire series it was hard to narrow down and pick some standouts. When it came down to it, however, one moment stood out for a variety of reasons. Prom is an exciting time and the season four finale of OTH dealt with prom in a variety of ways. Vega 4’s song life is beautiful played throughout a series of vignettes, following the extremely happy – Lucas and Hayley – to the painful – Mouth and Brooke – to the emotional – Lucas and his parents. The song really juxtaposed and underscored one of the most shocking and utterly terrifying moments in the series…the moment when Peyton went to go open the door expecting Lucas as her prom date, only to get literally sucker punched by Derek. Life was not beautiful for Peyton that night, but the use of the song in such a unique way created a moment we’ll never forget.
