This week’s episode “Farewell to Storyville” was just that, a farewell to one of our main characters. Reactions are varied to Claire Holt’s aka Rebekah’s goodbye as a series regular. While the creators of the show have said openly that the door is open for her to come back in future episodes, she won’t be reprising her role in the same way.

The episode again reiterated how much the siblings have issues relating to their complicated relationship with their father. This was underscored throughout with flashbacks to the Mikaelsons’ childhood showing their cruel father. We were tense throughout the first half of the episode and left wondering whether or not Klaus was actually going to stab his sister with the white oak stake. When that didn’t come to pass, we saw some resolution between Rebekah and Klaus. We also saw Rebekah give Hayley some words of wisdom. The most emotional part of the episode was clearly the goodbye to Marcel. Are you going to miss Rebekah? We have a feeling she’ll be back in one way or another.
