It’s finally here- after months of anticipation, the musical episode of Riverdale is airing tonight on The CW.
The cast of the hit drama will be performing songs from “Carrie: The Musical” based on the Stephen King novel and hit movie. The character of Cheryl Blossom, played by Madelaine Petsch, will be playing the title role.
The musical episode was confirmed by series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. He posted the following cast list on his Twitter account, captioning it, “Dream episode of #Riverdale coming up! “CARRIE: The Musical” is happening!!!”
Yesterday, the musical episode’s opening number was released as a preview online. The musical number features many of the show’s character including Archie (played by KJ Apa), Betty (played by Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (played by Camila Mendes). Click below to watch the opening number:
The soundtrack to the episode will be available to stream and purchase after the episode airs. Tune in tonight at 8 on the CW to see the musical episode of Riverdale!
