We’ve mentioned Sam Smith before, but he’s so amazing that his talents definitely bear mentioning yet again. This week, Smith is our featured up-and-comer. His record is topping charts, his voice is amazing, but beyond that he’s a true social pioneer. Sam is openly gay and came out on the eve of his record release. Smith came out publicly in an interview with Fader magazine and has since gone on record saying anyone struggling with coming out should listen to his record as it may help them in their journey.

While we’re enjoying this record currently, we’re already eagerly awaiting a follow up. Smith is touring this summer an then will likely get back into the studio come fall. He’s a powerhouse and we’re sure to see a lot more of in in the months and years to come!
