For fans of singer and songwriter Elijah Woods, check out his newly released song called “last girl” with country artist Mackenzie Porter. We have an exclusive interview with Elijah to learn more about how he got into songwriting, future tours and performances, his favorite songs to cover, and more, brought to you by Young Entertainment Exclusive.
Elijah hails from Ontario Canada and began his solo career in 2021. He said he realized when he was a teen that school wasn’t the path for him and later chose to pursue music full time. He first started out djing and making dance music, and then became known for producing while being a part of the Canadian pop duo, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine. The duo emerged as winning contestants on the first season of the Canadian reality music competition, The Launch. After the group mutually split, Elijah helped to produce the viral hit “I’m Not Pretty” from JESSIA and he then got into singing and writing his own music. He released his first single “lights” in January 2021 and released his debut EP later that year. Elijah joined Dean Lewis as a supporting act for Lewis’s world tour in May of 2023 and he just finished up his first own headline tour in Canada.
We asked Elijah about being the main act on a tour and he said being in the duo group with Jamie Fine allowed him to get a lot of experience performing in front of crowds. Elijah said he is planning tours in Europe and Asia currently and hopes to come to the United States after that to perform. Elijah said it was scary at times to go from being in the background as a producer to learning how to sing in front of large audiences but he has held onto the authenticity and vulnerability of his songs.
When asked about his favorite songs to cover, Elijah said he currently likes to cover “Something in the Orange” by Zach Bryan, “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, and “Delicate” by Taylor Swift during his recent tour.
Elijah said he hopes fans feel more seen than they did before after listening to his music and he is always striving to create songs that make him and others feel something.
