Fathers and Daughters
is getting quite the well-rounded cast, with the addition of Haley Bennett (from Marley & Me) to a team featuring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, Octavia Spencer, Diane Kruger and Quvenzhané Wallis. The film centers on a successful NYC novelist (Crowe) raising his daughter (Seyfried) on his own and how their relationship changes as she becomes an adult.Kate Beckinsale will perform opposite Simon Pegg in Absolutely Anything, which follows a not-too-bright man who discovers he has magical powers given to him by aliens determining if Earth is worth saving.
Funnymen Kevin James and Josh Gad are being considered to star alongside Adam Sandler in PIXELS, a sci-fi comedy based on the amazing short film by Patrick Jean. The story revolves around four dweeby former champion arcade gamers who are called into action to save the world when aliens attack using ’80s video game characters on an epic scale. Jennifer Aniston is also being considered for the role of Sandler’s love interest.
Neil Gaiman fans rejoice! Sandman is currently being written, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been mentioned as a possible director. But the great news is: he will definitely star!
David Kross (of War Horse and The Reader) will lead Boy7, an interesting sci-fi mystery in which a teenager wakes up in a subway with no recollection of how he got there and soon realizes his life is in danger. Based on the book by Mirjam Mous.
Danielle Brooks (Taystee of Orange is the New Black) will star in I Dream Too Much, about a college student with an overactive imagination who volunteers to take care of her intimidating aunt.
Disney is still trying to get Wish List off the ground, which is being pitched as a sort-of Big for girls—telling the story of a grown woman whose 10 childhood wishes suddenly begin coming true many years later. In talks to star (after Reese Witherspoon reportedly left the project) are: Amy Adams, Rashida Jones, Tina Fey and Zooey Deschanel. For the male love interest, we hear it’s between Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Jason Bateman and Adam Sandler.

Firstly, some much-hyped TV news! Get ready for some exciting new developments on MTV’s Teen Wolf. Number one is the rumor that one major character will reportedly die in the midseason finale on March 24. Are you freaking out as much as we are about this?? But don’t fret – we won’t have that long to grieve, since it has been revealed that next season will feature a hot new character by the name of Mason, who is being referred to as “an out-and-proud athlete, described as funny, witty and handsome.”
Lastly, some fun kids’ movies to get excited about: Disney is developing a movie version of Hungry Hungry Hippos, a feature that will be somehow based on the popular Hasbro board game. We wonder what this will look like.
Also on Disney’s list is Overnight, which is being billed as Home Alone in a toy store, with a father and son winning an inaugural sleepover in a state-of-the-art toy emporium the same night burglars break in.
Lastly we have The Weinstein Company trying to get in on the family game, with A Cricket In Times Square, based on the classic children’s picture book series by George Seden.
