Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards are back! One of the first YA awards shows, the unique surfboard trophies are especially awesome. The Awards have just been relocated to The Shrine Auditorium from Pauley Pavilion near UCLA due to a water main bursting. While that’s sad news, the show must go on, and go on it will with a live broadcast on 8/10. All new categories in social and digital are included this year and we can’t wait to see those play out on Fox.

TEEN CHOICE 2014 celebrates the hottest teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web. Taylor Swift, Ansel Elgort, Victoria Justice, Collins Key, Laura and Vanessa Marano, Ian Somerhalder, Odeya Rush, Brenton Thwaites and Ariana Grande join previously announced stars scheduled to appear Hilary Duff, Megan Fox, Fifth Harmony, Kevin Hart, Colton Haynes, Josh Hutcherson, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Lea Michele, The Band Perry, Keegan Allen, Jake T. Austin, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Big Show, Jamie Blackley, Hilary Duff, Megan Fox, Fifth Harmony, Kevin Hart, Colton Haynes, Ian Harding, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kellan Lutz, Lea Michele, MKTO, Chloë Grace Moretz, The Band Perry, Cody Simpson, Hailee Steinfeld, Gregg Sulkin, Bella Thorne, Nat Wolff and more will be featured!

Tyler Posey and Sarah Hyland are co-hosting which we’re particularly excited about! Posey is a musician and actor who rose to fame with the breakout role of Scott on Teen Wolf. Prior to Teen Wolf he has been acting steadily for over 10 years with roles such as Jennifer Lopez’s son in Maid in Manhattan. He auditioned for Jacob in Twilight but that role went to Taylor Lautner, and apparently the two are close friends and often lost out on roles to one another as youngsters. We were lucky enough to do a lengthy interview with Posey and he was nothing but gracious and amazing. He DID almost drop a major spoiler – revisit the interview here (hyperlink). His success is well-deserved and he couldn’t be a nicer guy.

Sarah Hyland stars in the smash Golden Globe Award- and Emmy Award-winning comedy “Modern Family.” She’s made a name for herself playing oldest daughter Hayley, who is charmingly ditsy but a trailblazer. Hyland got her start at four, starring in numerous plays and musicals, on and off-Broadway. This year she is nominated for “Choice TV Female Scene Stealer,” and was a previous nominee for “Choice TV Female Scene Stealer” in 2012 and “Choice Breakout Talent” in 2010. We can’t wait to see the chemistry between these two and tune into the awards! Will you be watching? Tune in and tweet us @YAmzine with thoughts!
