Temara Melek

If you’re a Demi Lovato fan, you might have seen a young lady by the name of Temara Melek supporting the Los Angeles date of her Neon Lights Experience tour, which happened to be streamed live to … oooh, about six million people.  Temara has just released her second single, Fingerprints, and the media excitement about her overseas has led to her being dubbed ‘the teenaged Katy Perry’.  Not much pressure to follow up on so far then. We caught up with Temara recently to talk kooky clothes and favorite burgers.  Enjoy!

YA Magazine: Where are you from? Can you tell us an interesting fact about your childhood?

Temara Melek: I am originally from Colorado. An interesting fact is that I used to try to perform anywhere I could.

YA: Can you tell us what the inspiration was behind your new single, Fingerprints?

TM: It’s a song about leaving your mark on what is yours. It is about empowerment and confidence.
