DELIRIUM

Summed up as:
The long-awaited film adaptation of Lauren Oliver’s beloved romantic dystopia is finally being unveiled!
Coolest thing in the trailer: The sheep surrounding Emma Roberts!
Hottest thing in the trailer: We can’t decide between Daren Kagasoff and Gregg Sulkin because they are both so hot!
Worth watching on premiere night? This will be available on demand on Hulu, but we’ve been curious about it for so long, you know will be watching the second we are able to!

PADDINGTON

Summed up as:
Remember this classic storybook character? …Really? Neither do we, but c’mon, it’s another talking animal/fish-out-of-water (or in this case, bear-out-of-woods) story.
Most delightful thing in the trailer: How the bear doesn’t talk. Gotta love good old physical slapstick!
Worth seeing it opening weekend? Judging from the trailer, this seems fairly basic. Rent Jumanji instead?

HOME

Summed up as:
E.T. phone Dreamworks.
We can’t get over: This movie’s name. For a spunky animated movie about a small loveable alien, they couldn’t come up with something more creative?
Coolest thing in the trailer: Jim Parsons’ Big Bang of a voice. It’s so him, and we love it.
Worth seeing opening weekend? This looks cute, but also pretty derivative. Maybe if it was Pixar…

WHAT WE DID ON OUR HOLIDAY

Summed up as:
An innocuous-seeming and very British account of three children on holiday with their parents in Scotland.
Funniest thing in the trailer: When the little boy has to ‘pretend to enjoy’ a music recital: “This is absolutely killing me!”
Worth seeing opening weekend? From the looks of it, this seems pretty feel-good, so if that’s what you’re up for, go for it.

The Penguins of Madagascar

Summed up as: More talking animals, people!! This one, a spinoff from Madagascar focusing on the crowd-pleasing aquatic birds.
Funniest thing in the trailer: The Cheesy Dibbles moment.
Best Voice? Definitely Andy Richter as Mort.
Worth seeing opening weekend? Well, did you love the penguins in Madagascars 1-3, etc?

THE BOXTROLLS

Summed up as:
Another macabre but family-friendly animated feature in the tradition of Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline.
Most imaginative thing in the trailer: This has been in the works for awhile, and the on-screen capturing of the ghoulish little characters in Alan Snow’s children’s novel Here Be Monsters! is pretty brilliant.
Best Voice? We’re most excited to hear more of Elle Fanning and Tracy Morgan.
Worth seeing opening weekend? This one looks cool, so yes!

STEP UP: ALL IN

Summed up as:
The crew is stepping up to dance like never before…again.
Coolest thing in the trailer: Dancing on the chandelier. We thought that was just a metaphor!
Hottest thing? The hunky lead, Ryan Guzman, discovered way back in 2012 for the last installment of the series, Revolution. He’s also Jake on #PLL. Meow!
Worth seeing opening weekend? This one will be a resounding ‘yes’ for franchise fans, and a calm and cool yawn from everyone else.

THE ANOMALY

Summed up as:
A super-vague seeming futuristic dystopia that looks way too much like Total Recall and The Matrix. But who know—those two looked like Blade Runner and they were still amazing…
Weirdest thing in the trailer:The female robot-voice voiceover. Alienating, and not in a good way. Also, Luke Hemsworth: now the third Hemsworth brother is making movies? Who’s next, their grandpa?
Coolest thing? Ian Somerhalder! From the looks of it, he plays the bad guy, and naturally we think he’ll be excellent at it.
Worth seeing opening weekend? For Ian, we’re going with a solid maybe.

SCHOOL DANCE

Summed up as:
The Step Up movie from above meets Sixteen Candles meets a Tyler Perry high school comedy.
Weirdest and Best thing in the trailer: The crazy looking bald girl who looks like Amanda Bynes, whose name in the film is Marry Wanna.
Interesting sidenote: This one’s written and directed by none other than Nick Cannon, of America’s Got Talent fame (oh, and he’s also married to Mariah freaking Carey).
Worth seeing opening weekend? This is total VOD material. Just sayin.
