ST. VINCENT

Summed up as:
Bill Murray fans rejoice! This biting yet heartwarming comedy casts Bill as a grumpy old man, with an amazing cast rounded out by Melissa McCarthy, Chris O’Dowd and Terrence Howard.

Funniest thing in the trailer: The precocious but still green little kid’s understanding of the term ‘lady of the night’.

Dumbest thing in the trailer: Naomi Watts trying to sound Russian. (But she is believable as a floozy stripper.)

Worth seeing opening weekend? If you love Bill Murray, then this is a no-brainer.

When Marnie Was There

Summed up as: An atmospheric and beautiful new anime from Japan, based on the novel by Joan G. Robinson.

Most beautiful thing in the trailer: While the animation is pretty, the song playing is what stay with you.

Most interesting thing in the trailer: Is this a cartoon lesbian romance? If so, we’re on board!

Worth seeing opening weekend? Are you a die-hard anime freak?

PRIDE

Summed up as: In the vein of (the incredible) Billy Elliott and The Full Monty, this film based on a true story takes a look at the LGBT contingent in favor of the miners during the iconic strikes of the 1980s in the UK.

Funniest thing in the trailer:Veteran British stage actress Imelda Staunton (Delores Umbridge in Harry Potter) saying “massive lez-off”.

Most interesting thing in the trailer: The portrayal of this unlikely—but ultimately mutually beneficial—bond between the LGBT community of London and a gruff Welsh mining town.

Worth seeing opening weekend? This one looks grand. We’ll be there.
