Thursday Twitter Takeover: C.B. Lee

Each week, an accomplished published author takes over the YEM Twitter account for Thursday’s Twitter Takeover. Each week, the YA author will answer questions, tell stories, and give advice on our social media. This week author C.B. Lee will be taking over our Twitter account.

C.B. Lee is a Lambda Literary Award-nominated author. She is the author of the Sidekick Squad series. Her latest entry in the series is called Not Your Backup. Combining superheroes (and some not-so-super heroes), romance, action, and an inclusive cast of characters, Not Your Backup is certain to entertain teens (and those of us who love YA fiction) with relatable struggles as well as over-the-top adventures.

In Not Your Backup, Emma Robledo has a few more responsibilities that the usual high school senior. But then again, she and her friends have left school to lead a fractured Resistance movement against a corrupt Heroes’ League of Heroes. Emma is the only member of a supercharged team without powers, and she isn’t always taken seriously. A natural leader, Emma is determined to win this battle, and when that’s done, get back to school. As the Resistance moves to challenge the League, Emma realizes where her place is in this fight: at the front.
