Welcome to the final week of December! Time flew by, didn’t it? To think that after this week, we will be stepping into the next stage which is 2023! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for the new year. But before we can even embrace that new year, YEM has compiled a list of entertainment to provide you with enough joy before we head off into 2023. Here’s the list!
Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl – 12/28
Welcome the Madrigals for this very exciting rendition of song and dance in Hollywood! The original cast is back to meet up for this Hollywood Bowl, and this live-to-film concert is here to feature the music that made Encanto shine! Keep an eye out for the date of its release, as this concert will come out on Disney+ on December 28th of this year.
Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson – 12/27
Are you interested in sleuth stories? Well, look no further than Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson, which will be released on December 27th of this year! Follow the adventure of Stevie Bell as she becomes involved in a whole, new mystery. After solving the cold case of Truly Devious, Stevie gets invited by her boyfriend to travel to England, where a whole new cold case comes up to her doorstep. A double-murder with seven witnesses/suspects, can Stevie solve this mystery, or will she be ensnared by the mastermind’s trap? Find out on December 27th!
His Dark Materials Season 3 Episodes 7 & 8 – 12/26
Are you a fan of the Supernatural? What about magic? For those who have watched this show before, His Dark Materials are about to release episodes 7 and 8 on December 26th for Season 3. For those who don’t know the show or are interested, His Dark Materials stars Lyra, who is destined to save her world, a world where a human’s soul can manifest as an animal companion known as a daemon. This show is based on a trilogy of novels by Philip Pullman, so I would give it a watch if you’re interested in this concept!
This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi -12/27
Most stories star the protagonist as the child of heroic parents, or perhaps a child born to save the world. In this case, our protagonist Alizeh is a servant. But Kamran, the crown prince, would never have expected that this servant would be the one to shake the kingdom and the world. With the author’s world-building and influence from Persian mythology with Islamic text, Tahereh captivates readers to want to read what will come next. Stay tuned for this book’s release on Barnes & Nobles on December 27th of this year!
National Treasure: Episode 4 – 12/28
Are you still interested in treasures and hidden secrets? The next episode of National Treasure will come on December 28th, and things are starting to get troubling for our protagonist, Jess. Not only is she stuck not being able to solve any puzzles from the previous episode, but her relationship with Liam is also causing her some concerns. And to add onto that, she and a certain, treasure hunter gets stuck in a dangerous trap! Intrigued to know what will happen in this episode? Make sure to look closely for the date of its release!
WayV: Phantom – 12/28
Are you a fan of NCT? WayV, a subunit of SMTOWN, is here to announce its newest album release, Phantom! This boy band is the fourth subunit of NCT, managed under Label V with SM Entertainment China! If you haven’t heard of this band before, then perhaps you’ve heard of their EP, The Vision. Either way, make way for their mini-album’s release on December 28th!
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse – 12/25
Christmas is all about family, and sometimes, family comes in a whole, different package. In this case, this family is a tad different from others. Follow the adventures of a young boy in search of his home with a mole, a fox, and a horse! You might have read the book version of this TV movie, but if you’re interested in the animated version, keep a look out for it on December 25th!
2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE – 12/26
SMTOWN fans, be prepared for their album’s winter release on December 26th of this year! This is the ninth winter album to be released under SMTOWN’s: SMCU PALACE project which was started back on November 25th. This album features not only this band, but a whole plethora of artists such as NCT, BoA, Girl Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, EXO, and more! If you’re interested to see more of what this album will contain, keep your eyes out for the album’s release!
Secrets of Summer Season 2 – 12/30
This is a bit of a strange title to add in when it’s still the middle of winter, huh? But for those who have heard of this show, rejoice! Season 2 of Secrets of Summer will be live on December 30th of this year, and for those who want to know the aftermath of what happened after Season 1’s finale, you’ll want to check out Season 2 on December 30th!

Are you excited about ATEEZ? This K-pop band is making their comeback with their newest album called SPIN OFF: FROM THE WITNESS on December 30th. What’s interesting about this certain album is that this is a spin-off from THE WORLD series, and for those who are interested in what this narrative can show, keep an eye out for this album’s release!
