We love that it’s Kami’s town, rather than the world, that she has to save–making it a much more personal story. Featuring Kami in silhouette against a lakeside sunset, the cover doesn’t exactly scream romance or paranormal. It vaguely evokes magic, but of a more realistic bent. Fans, however, will easily recognize it next to the others novels in the series. Author Sarah Rees Brennan currently lives in Dublin, but previously lived in New York, where she “became involved with a wide circle of writers who encouraged and supported her”, including Holly Black and Cassandra Clare.
