Up-and-Comers: Meet The Bro/Sis Duo From ‘The Visit’

In the creepy new horror thriller The Visit, Olivia DeJonge and Ed Oxenbould play siblings Becca and Tyler who make a long overdue visit to their mother’s parents only to find themselves in eery circumstances. Are there grandparents just quirky old folks, or is something more sinister going on? Hmmmm….

Both Olivia and Ed are young Australian actors. The Visit is probably the first time American audiences have ever seen Olivia who is known for her work on Australian television series Hiding about a family in the witness protection program. But you might recognize Ed from his titular role in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day starring opposite Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner.

The Visit marks acclaimed mystery/thriller director M. Knight Shyamalan’s return to the screen after a bit of an absence. Shyamalan is known for suspense classics like The Sixth Sense, Signs, and Unbreakable, so if you haven’t already checked out The Visit, expect an indie-style thriller that’s still very stylish and creepy at the hands of the Oscar nominated master of mystery.

Ed Oxenbould

Up next for these young Aussie up-and-comers? Fourteen year old Ed can be seen in Chevy, a TV movie that is a  spinoff or continuation of sorts of National Lampoon’s Vacation starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo as boomer grandparents whose lives are thrown into a tizzy when their grandkids come to live with them. As for 17 year old Olivia, she seems to be sticking with the horror genre and is slated to star in Safe Neighborhood, a thriller about a babysitter attempting to survive a home invasion.

Keep on the lookout for these two, they are definitely a double threat from down under!
