Born in Australia and moved to the USA at the age of 5, up and comer Cassi Thomson has been acting for almost a decade. In 2008, she had a leading role in a small children’s film called Cop Dog, a sort of Turner & Hooch for kids, where she played opposite Billy Unger (Lab Rats), but other than that her work has been mostly on TV.
After making appearances on House M.D., ER, and Without a Trace, Cassi landed a role on the intense HBO drama series Big Love. She played Cara Lynn Walker, daughter of Nikki Henrickson (Chloe Sevigny), who gets adopted into her mother’s new polygamist family. Cassi’s character stirred up quite a lot of drama, whose main storyline revolved around an affair with her teacher! Cassi’s next big TV role came on ABC Family’s Switched at Birth, on which she played a Christian rock singer.
Cassi will continue on in the Christian spirit as she is set to make her major film debut as Chloe Steele in Left Behind, a film based on the popular, best-selling Christian novel series of the same name. There has already been one book to screen adaptation of the series, which starred 80s young adult star Kirk Cameron. The new series boasts extreme movie star Nicolas Cage, who plays Rayford Steele, Chloe’s father. The film centers around the chaotic events after the second coming of Jesus Christ. The film also stars One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray, and opens on October 3.
