ABOUT THE ALBUM: Individual there’s enough to write about Questlove and the Roots to fill up an entire book. In fact, Questlove recently released a book in addition to teaching a class at NYU, backing Jimmy Fallon as the Roots do the houseband thing, a book tour and more things than can be listed here. How he has time to breathe is wondrous. Elvis Costello is a post-punk legend in his own right. Put the two of them together and pages upon pages could be written. Wise Up Ghost is sure to delight both Roots and Costello fans and is leaving many salivating for a taste. Not a ton is known about the record currently since the recording sessions mostly “took place in secret” during “the dead of night,” according to a press release. Questlove, noted, “I went stark and dark on the music, Elvis went HAM on some ole Ezra Pound shit.” Questlove produced the album with with Costello and Roots engineer Steven

The album also features a vocal contribution from La Marisoul of L.A. band La Santa Cecilia on a track called “Cinco Minutos Con Vos”. Check it out 9/17/13.
