Ya Mag Talks To Haley Pullos

Haley Pullos photoHow did you know you wanted to be an actress?

I know it sounds weird, but I’ve always known, I’ve always felt that acting was the thing for me.

What has been your favorite part so far?

Definitely Molly (Lansing, of General Hospital). There will always be a special place in my heart for her. We have literally grown up together.

In General Hospital did you get to work with James Franco? What was that like?

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to work with him, but my TV sister, Kelly Monaco, did. She said he was super interesting and awesome to work with.

With all the work you’ve done, do you have a favorite scene that you shot? Which one was it and why?

I shot the pilot episode of Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”. My character was zipped up in a body bag AND locked in a refrigerator. That was pretty cool!

What are you most looking forward to?

Summer. I have a feeling that the summer of ’13 is gonna be the best.

Who do you most look up to the industry? Why him/her?

I think I would have to say Rachel McAdams because she plays each of her roles so differently and that really impresses me. I would love to work with her one day!

What would it mean working with that person?

I think it would be very inspirational to see her process. I think I could learn so much from her.

What are some fun things that happen on set? And how do you keep yourself busy during break times?

Jimmy Deshler (Rafe, GH) and I are in a prank war with Tequan Richmond (TJ, GH). One day after work, T had left early, so Jimmy and I went into T’s dressing room, turned his couch upside down, put the table in his closet, wrote on his mirror with red lipstick and autographed a picture for him. We are just waiting to see how he repays us!

People love hearing about ‘Movie Magic’. What are some cool things that you have noticed about the filming process that you can share with people watching at home?

When we shot the Nurses’ Ball on General Hospital, many of the actors did performances. It was interesting because we would shoot the scenes several times. At the end, they would bring in a “fourth wall” and shoot with a hand held camera so they could get reaction shots and shots of us interacting with the performers. It is cool to see the finished product.

What’s next for you?

Right now, I’m mainly focusing on General Hospital because it’s been so busy. I’ve got a lot of great stuff coming up, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!

What’s your favorite film or TV show?

My favorite movie is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. My favorite TV show is Pretty Little Liars. They are both so well done. I race home on Tuesdays to see what happens next on Rosewood!
