Off the release of her wildly successful 2010 album, Speak Now, Red  is a more grown up version of Taylor Swift. Taylor made evident the inspiration behind the title for the album, which is clearly a strong evocative color – “All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. All those emotions — spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that — in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of those feelings.” It’s an exciting time in this young pistol’s life, and, hopefully there will be a follow up album to be released in very short order, since Red‘s 16 listed tracks (not including bonus materials) were chosen from a group of about 35 that Swift has waiting in the wings.

Track Spotlight: “Ronan”, while still not confirmed to be on the album (but record company brass are strongly hinting it’s likely to be a bonus track) tells the story of a little boy gone too soon.  It’s beautiful and haunting.
