Weirdest thing in the trailer: How the young lead (aka gorgeous Liana Liberato) looks like Jennifer Lawrence, but isn’t.
Most romantic? The snippet of a kiss scene in the rain, which gets us all Notebook-y feeling. Who has the tissues (if there are any left after FIOS)???
Worth seeing it opening weekend? How much do you want to cry and/or say ‘Awwww!!’?
FINAL GIRL
Summed up as: A teenagey creepy period thriller that looks fairly fascinating.
Most shocking thing in the trailer: Little miss sunshine Abigail Breslin glitzing and glamming it up, playing a femme fatale named Veronica to boot.
Weirdest thing? That lighting.
Did they show too much? Yes. Way too much.
Worth seeing opening weekend? We’re going to go with yes. The Hunger Games’ Alexander Ludwig really seems to have come into his own. And gotta love American Beauty’s (and Ludwig’s Hunger Games costar) Wes Bentley!
HELICOPTER MOM
Summed up as: Might we have a new GBF??? This looks, in a word, hilarious.
Funniest thing in the trailer: Both the opening birthday moment with mom and closing convo with dad (about what gives the 17-year-old lead a boner) are laugh-so-hard-I’m-crying.
Coolest thing? The idea that just maybe, this high school boy doesn’t know if he’s gay or straight or whatever yet. How revolutionary!
Worth seeing opening weekend? YES! We. Love. Nia Vardalos. Anyone remember My Big Fat Greek Wedding???
