Each year, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) holds March Madness, where 64 Division I men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in a single elimination tournament to determine the national champions. We created our own version using some of the best current teen relationships seen on TV or in movies to place our bets on. Victor/Nova vs. Lucas and Max

These couples have defied all the odds to find their way to each other. Which couple has the best origin story?

Victor and Nova- Zombies 4 AKA Novictor

Nova: “Okay. Here goes, I’ve been having visions of you.”

Victor: “That is crazy, ‘cause me too.”

Victor and Nova had a strong connection before even meeting in person, sharing dreams of each other. Once they figure out they are both real, they realize that reality is better than their dreams and true love is better than any imagination.

Lucas and Max- Stranger Things AKA Lumax

Max: “I just needed you.”

Lucas: “I see you now. I see you.”

This couple has been there for each other through thick and thin. When Max wakes up from a coma, she realizes Lucas’s constant presence, including his voice and his hands on hers, helped her to heal, proving that true love really is a cure.

Belly/Conrad vs. Steven/Taylor

Even from the same show, these couples have gone through trials and tribulations but have realized time and time again that they cannot live without each other. Which couple has fought more for their happy ending?

Belly and Conrad- TSITP AKA Bonrad

Conrad: “I’ve changed everything about myself, and the one thing that never changes is that I love you.”

Belly: “”If there are infinite worlds, every version of me chooses you, in every one of them.”

Despite outside pressures, Conrad and Belly finally realize what we had hoped all along- that their love for each other will never waver. The years of yearning were difficult, but they all led to those perfect moments of peace with each other.

Steven and Taylor- TSITP AKA Staylor

Steven: “”It has to mean something though. Right? That we keep coming back to each other, that it feels like it’s never really over?”

Taylor: “”I’m not scared of us anymore. I am scared of you not knowing that.”

Despite their off-again breaks, Steven and Taylor found ways to communicate their love to one another, vowing to always be honest about their feelings. They realize that they have to do stuff with each other, not always for each other, including their move to San Francisco, signaling a strong commitment to a future together.

Zed/Addison vs. Clara/Miller

These couples are the ultimate winners of grand gestures and have stuck with each other through the good times and the bad. Which couple are you rooting for more to go the distance?

Zed and Addison- Zombies AKA Zeddison

Zed: “Imagine me taking her to the dance, a human and a zombie, hand in hand.”

Addison: “”You are [more than just a zombie]! You’re smart, and brave, and… and you’re you!”

Zed and Addison have found true love and acceptance from finding the beauty in each other for who they truly are, flaws and all. The couple truly is better together and have taken the next steps individually and together, seeing a future where they can just be happy.

Clara and Miller- Regretting You AKA Cliller

Miller: “I just crave you more than I’ve ever craved anything in my life.”

Clara: “I’m confident that I’ll never spend a single second of my life regretting you.”

Even when it felt like the world was falling apart around them, Clara and Miller still had each other and that vulnerability that first brought them together. The pair can have fun together, navigate grief together, and imagine a future together, as Miller reveals that he has been accepted into the same college as Clara.

Percy/Annabeth vs. Enola/Tewkesbury

These couples go on incredible journeys and adventures together, and every setback only makes them stronger. Which couple’s journey has touched you the most?

Percy and Annabeth – Percy Jackson AKA Percabeth

Percy: “We’re staying together. You’re not getting away from me. Never again.”

Annabeth: “As long as we’re together.”

Relationships don’t need to be rushed, and real true love often takes time. Even with different perspectives on things, Percy and Annabeth have a lot to offer to each other and also realize they can accomplish more together, hinting that they are in it for the long term.

Enola and Tewkesbury- Enola Holmes AKA Holmesbury

Tewkesbury: “It means I love you.”

Enola: “And as it turns out, I love you too.”

You can try and fight a feeling but it may never truly go away. From those small soft moments to accepting each other for who they are, Enola and Tewkesbury are able to break down each other’s barriers, convincing Enola that she can still be her independent strong self and also truly be in love.
