If you’ve been keeping up with the world of film, then you’ll definitely know, or maybe even have seen, Cha Cha Real Smooth. The film, starring Dakota Johnson and Leslie Mann, was released on Apple TV+ this past June and has garnered widespread acclaim from critics, and even a Certified Fresh rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. We got to sit down with Evan Assante, who plays David in Cha Cha Real Smooth, and talk a little bit about his experience on set!
Evan told us all about what it was like working with such well-known actors and the advice that he was able to get from them. We also talked about what it was like to collaborate with director, producer, and actor, Cooper Raiff, who Evan worked closely with while on set. With such big names like Dakota, Leslie, and Cooper, it was definitely interesting to hear about Evan’s time acting alongside them!
Evan shared what it was like to go to the film festival circuits for the film, which was really interesting to hear about. He was in attendance at some of the most major ones in the country, including Sundance, so it was definitely quite the whirlwind. We were also able to get a little insight into what the audition was like for the film. Evan told us how what he thought would be a typical audition ended up being such a major role and how he felt during that whole process. We also got to look back on Evan’s past roles, and also talk about what’s next for him – he is definitely an up-and-coming actor that you won’t want to miss.
