Sophia Pippen is an actor, dancer, and model. Sophia has been in the movie “Ballers”. She has also been on the a spinoff of the show Dancing With the Stars, Dancing with the Stars Junior. YEM was able to speak with Sophia about what it was like to act alongside Dwayne Johnson in Ballers, What it was like being on Dancing with the Stars Junior, and what inspired her to be a fashion model.
Young Entertainment Mag: What was it like acting alongside Dwayne Johnson in Ballers? Were you able to learn anything from his acting?
Sophia Pippen: Dwayne Johnson is one of my favorite actors and I learned so much from him.
YEM: Since you are primarily a dancer, what made you realize you wanted to act as well?
Sophia: I was watching tv one day and I really liked how a lot of people in the industry are diverse when it comes to their careers. After doing research I saw that a lot of dancers act as well.
YEM: How has your burgeoning fame as a fashion model affected you?
Sophia: It’s affected me positively and negatively but I’m really thankful of my upbringing.
YEM: Regarding Dancing with the Stars Junior, what was it like to work on a spinoff for such a popular reality show competition?
Sophia: It was a great experience getting to work on the show. I learned so much and really hope I made everyone proud.
YEM: What helps you stay grounded as your careers and social media popularity blow up? What’s it like to see the numbers on social media go up? Do you have any quick tips to help those struggling with their socials?
Sophia: Being surrounded by family helps me stay grounded with all the work that I do, I don’t know what I would do without them. A tip of advice would be your authentic self and don’t be afraid to show it.
YEM: What is it you love most about being a fashion model and acting?
Sophia: I love working on different projects and taking on different roles.
YEM: What inspired you to want to be a fashion model and an actor?
Sophia: Watching Gigi Hadid on Real Housewives inspired me to do modeling.
YEM: Being the daughter of Scottie Pippen, how has this helped you prepare for being in the public eye now10. What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
Sophia: My dad always told me to focus on the positive. Being in the public eye can be hard but I always see it as a blessing.
Getting to work on different projects has been really cool. But If I had to pick a favorite I would say DWTS Juniors was the highlight of my career.
YEM: How do you stay motivated on days when you perhaps feel overwhelmed by the responsibilities of maintaining each of your careers?
Sophia: It can be difficult at times but knowing that I inspire kids my age to start their careers early, really motivates me everyday.
YEM: Where would you like to see your career go from here? What’s next for you?
