YEM talks to Paxton Booth of “Coop & Cami Ask The World”

Paxton Booth is 8 years old and is already a Disney Channel star. Paxton plays younger brother Ollie Wrather on the newest Disney Channel show, Coop & Cami Ask The World. Although only 8 years old, Paxton is no newcomer to gracing TV screens. He began acting at the age of 2 and was even a judge on the ABC reality show The Toy Box. YEM spoke with Paxton about the new show!

Young Entertainment Mag: Our readers are really excited for the first season of Coop & Cami Ask The World! The show just premiered – can you tell us about your character on the show?
Paxton Booth: I’m excited for you guys to see it! I play Ollie Wrather, he is the youngest of the family. He is fearless and always willing to do what every crazy gag they want him to do. Ollie is really fun to play because he says whatever is on his mind without even thinking about it. He is also the “test pilot” for his brother and sisters online show “Would You Wrather”.

YEM: Do you share any similarities with your character, Ollie Wrather?
Paxton: Well, not too many. We both like to do stunts and would do anything for our families. However, Ollie doesn’t have a filter and just speaks his mind when sometimes he shouldn’t. When I’m reading a script and trying to figure out what Ollie’s action might be, I just do the opposite of what I would do normally do.

YEM: Our readers remember you as a judge on The Toy Box! What was it like to be a part of that show?
Paxton: The Toy Box was really fun. They didn’t show it on air, but we got to spend a lot of time playing with each toy and talking to each inventor. I made some new friends and even got to take home some of the toys.

YEM: Other than Coop & Cami Ask The World, what’s your favorite show on Disney Channel?
Paxton: I’m a big fan of Jessie. It ended a few years ago, but I catch just about every rerun. I just started getting into Duck Tales too. My mom watched it when she was a kid so it’s fun to watch the new episodes with her.

YEM: If you could guest star on any other Disney Channel show, what would it be and why?
Paxton: It would have to be Jessie. I would love to work with Cameron Boyce and Karan Brar. They are both really talented actors.

YEM: Do you have a favorite moment from filming Coop & Cami Ask The World so far?
Paxton: I have so many favorite moments, but the one that sticks out is when I got to ride an animal on set. I can’t give it away, but he is very sweet and his name is Peanut. He decided he didn’t want to stop on his mark and just walked over to a pink cake on set and started eating it!

YEM: You do your own stunts on the show! What is that like?
Paxton: It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to do stunts at my age. We have an awesome stunt coordinator who makes sure I’m safe and teaches me the proper way to do each stunt. That makes it even more fun! I’ve had the chance to do everything from flying in the air to bathing in leftovers. It’s been an awesome experience!

YEM: When you’re not acting, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Paxton: I like to ride my BMX bike with my dad at skateparks or the BMX track, spend time at the beach and read. A lot of my time is also spent adding to my ever expanding Hot Wheels collection, which is now over 1000. I also enjoy watching older movies like Jaws or The Goonies in the evenings.
