Zombies 2 is almost here!

Good news for fans of Zombies. And fans of movie musicals! The hit Disney Channel Original Movie, Zombies, is returning! Last year, Disney Channel announced that a sequel to the hit movie was being planned. Stars Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim will return to reprise their roles.

The original movie was released in 2018 and included hit songs like “Fired Up.” The movie stars Meg Donnelly as Addison the cheerleader and Milo Manheim as a zombie turned football player named Zed. In the movie, Zed and Addison work together to show the town of Seabrook what they can achieve when they embrace their differences and celebrate what makes them a community. Zed and Addison meet and fall in love, and must lead their respective groups to coexist with each other.

The sequel, called Zombies 2, is expected to premiere on February 14, 2020. New faces have joined the cast including Pearce Joza, Chandler Kinney, and Ariel Martin.

Last week, Disney Channel released the first official trailer for Zombies 2. Watch the full trailer here:

One of the new songs in the sequel is called “We Got This.” On its Youtube page, Disney Channel gave fans a preview of the new song. And not only that, a full music video was released in anticipation for the new film. This is currently the first Disney Channel Original Movie that is expected to air in 2020.

Fans may recognize the stars of the movie from other popular projects. Meg Donnelly stars as Taylor Otto in the ABC comedy series, American Housewife. And Milo Menheim competed in the twenty seventh season of Dancing With The Stars, where he came in second place. Meg and Milo reunited in a few episodes of American Housewives, where the two played classmates and potential love interests. Interestingly enough, the two played high schoolers who were starring together in the school musical. Not a big stretch from Zombies, right?
